Lot 1405

1895 Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 61. A nice white coin. Only 880 Proofs struck for the year. King of the Morgan dollars. This lovely brilliant example displays uniform reflectivity in the fields and in so doing, gives a firm base, as it were, for the high-rising frosted devices. Both sides reveal a splendid two-tone effect as they rotate under the light. The strike is needle-sharp for the issue, as well, with all areas distinct. There are only scattered grade-limiting hairlines evident at most angles. Self-assuredness is one of this coin's leading characteristics. And why not? With so few Proofs made, and an ever-widening marketplace for Morgan silver dollars from new generations of coin devotees, this year's fame is certain well into the future. Pop 35. (PCGS # 7330) .
Estimated Value $30,000 - 32,000.
