Lot 1181

1919 Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. Nice original toning on both sides. Well struck. A radiant gem of the kind of quality one likes to describe for bidders of this actively collected walking Liberty half dollar design. Careening cartwheel luster blends effortlessly with pale toning highlights on the frosted surfaces. A hint of weakness at that is typically seen at the head and Liberty's thumb is missing on this sharply struck specimen, with the key central areas strongly hit by the dies. This is plainly visible in the photographs, or when the coin is viewed under medium power magnification. The sound of bidding should take this up to a crescendo when a strong price realized is entered into the auction book. Pop 50; 18 in 66, 7 in 67 (PCGS # 6577) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.
