Lot 1093

1918-D Liberty Standing Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65 Full Head. A creamy golden lustrous gem housed in an old green holder. A wonderful, nearly pristine specimen and, unlike most Denver Mint issues, squarely socked by the dies to impart a full design. The obverse is toned with a fine almost transparent overlay of golden shades; in the same vein, the reverse is warmly toned. Both sides almost totally devoid of marks, both satiny, which figures into the equation as well, propelling the coin into the top ranks in its grade class. That is the great thing, after all. You must look at them together to get a fair understanding of this coin's significance. It is really wonderful! If anyone wishes to judge a high quality standing Liberty quarter, then this rare '18-D will surely open a person's eyes and draw a nod of the head. Pop 43; 14 finer in 66 (PCGS # 5723) .
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,500.
