1864 Indian Head Cent. Bronze. NGC graded MS-64 Red. First year of the 48-grain French bronze planchets. A satiny golden red Indian cent with strong luster on matte-like surfaces suggesting worn dies. The strike is strong for the date, with just a touch of softness in the upper feather ends and on some of the rim dentils where show less forcefulness in places.
