1797 Draped Bust Cent. . S-129, R5+. VG-10 M over E in AMERICA. Glossy chocolate and steel brown with a few spots of slightly reddish chocolate brown toning on the reverse. No roughness or verdigris, and the only notable mark is a short horizontal pinscratch or thin nick under the ear. The M over E feature is clear. Late die state, Breen state III. Called VG10 in the Noyes and Bland census lists, tied for CC#6 in the first and CC#7 in the second. Either way this is an important example of a rare variety.
