1872 Quarter Dollar Washington Head. . BG-818. PCGS graded MS-65. Frosty with lovely golden toning. An lively gem of the popular Washington head California fractional gold series. Broadly sweeping golden luster glows brightly on medium orange satin-like surfaces; at first glance, Roman Finish Proofs come to mind. A better than average impression was left by the rebound of the dies that struck this piece; several of the stars show doubling (PCGS # 10679) .
