Lot 2491

1915-S $10 Indian. PCGS graded MS-64. Bright and glowing $10 gold piece from this difficult Mint -- San Francisco gold eagles of the period tended to make their way into circulation. Few were saved at the time. Mint State specimens, when found today, are bagmarked or hairlined for the most part. A superlative MS64 example like this rarely sees the light of day. And once it does, it immediately returns to a locked safe deposit vault. A coin like this is not to be stopped! Pop 20; 4 in 65; 2 in 66. (PCGS # 8879) .
Estimated Value $24,000 - 26,000.

Realized $28,750
