1882 Shield Nickel. PCI graded Proof 67. A hint of light golden toning. Baking bright luster beneath the natural color on smooth, mirror-deep surfaces. A touch of weakness is now and then found on a few of the leaves on the obverse, even on Proofs, but here it is probably that the dies were spaced exactly right to insure strong metal flow in that area; the obverse details are clear, razor-sharp, and, in summation, Superb! 3,100 proofs struck.
