(Hawaii) Kamehameha III Royal Patent No. 418 - 1851 (1814-54) He became king (1824-54) after his brother, King Liholiho, died from measles while visiting London. His mother, Queen Kaahumanu, served as his regent until her death in 1832; under her influence, he became a Christian and banned many Hawaiian traditions and practices. He reigned longer than any other Hawaiian king.

Partly printed bi-lingual Royal Patent No. 418 signed "Kamehameha" twice as King, once on page 2 on the Hawaiian language portion and once on page 4 on the English translation, 4pp, 13x8¼", 2 September 1851. Countersigned twice by Keoni Ana. Very good; light toning and seal transfer. Regarding a transfer of land at Nunanu, Honolulu that was bought by Oral R. Wood from Luli. The document has two royal seals.
