Kent, Rockwell (1882-1971) American painter and printmaker. Hand-tinted lithograph signed and inscribed, "To all the Carters, love and Glory Hallelujah! Sally & Rockwell 1944," just under the image of a winged Victory holding a furled flag in her left hand and a sword in her right hand, with a thunderbolt and storm clouds are in the background., 14x10", n.p. Excellent condition. Matted to an overall size of 19¼x15". Printed below the image is the first verse and chorus of "Battle Hymn of the Republic." A patriotic piece created during World War II. Kent's architectural training can be seen in his rendition of Victory.
