1797 Liberty Cap Half Cent. Plain edge. . C-1 R2. PCGS graded VF-25 Brown. Dark steel brown and chocolate with hints of reddish chocolate on the reverse. The obverse is a bit glossy while the reverse is closer to matte. No marks, but both sides are covered with extremely fine roughness, and the reverse shows a very light dusting of fine verdigris. Nicely struck EDS, Manley state 1.0, without any cracks or swelling on the obverse. The date is bold and the misplaced 1 above the normal 1 in the date is strong. EAC grade net F15. (PCGS # 1036) .
