Lot 3262

1900-O/CC Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. Blast white. This beautiful coin exhibits the silver satin luster on a well presented and fully struck example that collectors expect to find in the grade. Elusive as a Gem and better. Pop 601; 71 finer. (PCGS # 7268) .

Once the Carson City mint closed its doors forever in 1893, it must have had several spare reverse dies on hand which were returned to the home mint at Philadelphia. There, the dies were overpunched with an "O" mintmark and shipped to New Orleans. Much of the underfigure "CC" remains.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,200.
The Greenhill Collection.
