1893-CC Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. A nice untoned well struck example. The mint luster rolls around both sides with a pleasing cartwheel sheen, and none of the features reveal any bothersome distractions, indeed this lovely 1893-CC has eye appeal to spare! Desirable with this precision strike.

The Carson City, Nevada mint got a reprieve from abolishment when, in 1889, it reopened after a 4-year hiatus. But the relief of the mint workers and supporters got a hard knock when funding was dropped from the 1894 budget handed to Congress by the President. At the end of the calendar year, Carson City closed up shop for good, its funding cut, the workers fired, leaving only a few caretakers to mop up and dust the cobwebs. This silver dollar issue would turn out to be the last of a famous breed of "cartwheels" made in Nevada. Pop 392; 7 finer in 65. (PCGS # 7222) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.

Realized $10,350
