1827 Capped Bust Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-65. Mostly untoned. Full radial luster on satiny champagne gold and gray surfaces, the outbound stress lines of the metal flow being typical for these "struck without a collar" early bust coins. A touch of weakness is seen at the clasp at Liberty's shoulder on the obverse, with much sharper than average centers on the reverse, indicating an above-average coin. A gem, in other words, and destined for a high quality collection.
