1855 $1 Gold Indian. NGC graded MS-63. Frosty, medium golden color. This is a lovely, healthy-glowing Type 2 example, whose full-color obverse and reverse being essentially only light toned, beams with frosty luster. The design left by the dies lacks a certain robustness only at the centers, but that isn't unusual for this mint's production. Its strong position in the gold market makes the Type 2 an important purchase for the collector. 758,269 coins minted.
