Lot 1563

1913 Barber Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo PQ. Wonderful vibrant colored toning. This coin will bring a record price. 613 proofs minted. Satin surfaces top the devices of this well made Proof, devices that are almost frosted with pleasant, glowing silvery-gold color in the form of a spotlight on both sides. Feel free to use the word "astounding" when describing the color to your friends, should you be so lucky as to acquire this 1913 Barber quarter. So much, then, for the surface condition. As for the devices, these were struck with sufficient power by the dies that they left all design elements showing, not a sign of weakness anywhere, unlike many (even Proofs) where a few areas mushy. Worth a strong bid just for the color. Pop 2; 4 finer in 67. (PCGS # 85699) .
Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,500.

Realized $6,038
