Lot 1544

1880 Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 64 Cameo PQ. Wonderful multicolor toning. Also undergraded. Could run away. 1,355 proofs minted. The surfaces have a splendid, metallic, satin-like sheen with great color, vivid and grabbing your attention. The photographs show it well, but the naked eye viewing the coin itself catches all the nuance of the iridescent hues. No need to worry about an unsuccessful strike left by the rebound of the dies that coined this, since even a cursory examination of the piece reveals nice clarity of detail, including the centers, including the stars, Liberty's hair and shield, as well as the eagle's feathers and shield. No doubt about it, this coin deserves your attention! Pop 18; 19 finer. (PCGS # 85581) .
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.

Realized $2,530
