1878 Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 63 Cameo. Nicely toned around the edges. 800 proofs minted. Virtually ice-white in the centers but then this handsome choice coin acquiesces to gentle shades of gold before taking the headlong plunge into rollicking sunset orange with purple, and then onto a last hurrah (at the rims) of midnight blue for a very special look and beauty. Both sides are so toned. Both sides display the cameo contrast collectors have long come to associate with well-struck 19th century Proofs. Pop 5; 5 finer; 4 in 64; 1 in 65. (PCGS # 85579) .
