Lustrous, smooth-as-mirrors field displays original color, with the overall appearance greatly bolstered by gleam and sparkle from the luster. Regarding this date, Proofs tend to be sharp, as this coin is. Bidders will jump at this one, since 1872-dated pieces turn up infrequently. Only 950 proofs made (PCGS # 5571) .
