1876 Quarter Dollar Octagonal. Liberty Head. . BG-778. Low Rarity 7. PCGS graded MS-64. The plate coin for the Breen-Gillio book as well as the plate coin in Doering. A frosty mint example with light gold toning. Obverse struck from clashed dies; the reverse shows some light clashing as well as some rusting. PCGS has graded only nine examples of this variety and this example is tied for Finest Known. Pop 2 with none finer (PCGS # 10605) .
Estimated Value $1,400 - 1,500.
