1853 Half Dollar Octagonal. . BG-302. Low Rarity 4. PCGS graded MS-63 The Peacock Reverse. Very popular type with large F.D. behind the head (Frontier & Deviercy, the issuer). Nicknamed the "peacock" variety, there is a small, intricately designed eagle set in front of sun rays, giving an effect of a peacock's plumage. A very attractive example of the type, lustrous and choice. Pop 24; 14 finer. (PCGS # 10422) .
