Achaemenid Empire. Time of Darius I - Xerxes II, c. 485-420 BC. Gold Daric (8.28 g). King or Royal Hero in kneeling-running pose right, holding spear and bow. Reverse: Incuse punch. Carradice Type III-b, group A/B (pl. XIII, 27). Well struck and centered, with excellent portrait -- the figure in very bold relief. With considerable mint luster. Attractive. Extremely Fine.
