Pontic Kingdom. Mithradates VI 120-63 BC. Gold Stater (8.25 g), of First Mithradatic War, Callatis mint. Lysimachos type: Diademed head of deified Alexander the Great right. Reverse: Athena Nikephoros enthroned left; KAΛ on throne, HPO beneath arm, trident in exergue. Pick, AMNG 258. Usual eroded/rusty obverse die, but overall a clean strike. Very Fine plus.
