Lot 2994

1918-D Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Mostly white. There is a small mark on the lower leg feathers of the eagle. Pleasant satin luster ripples across untoned silver surfaces. A diminished impression was left by the recoil of the dies that struck this 1918-D, but only at the extreme center of the coin affecting Liberty's hand and the few skirt lines below this area. Otherwise, everything is entirely bold, including outstanding detail on Liberty's head, hair, and cap, and sharp thong straps on the sandals on both feet (these areas often lack detail even on the best preserved walking Liberty half dollars). In as few words as possible, then, a very presentable and attractive coin. Pop 193; 25 in 65; 3 in 66. (PCGS # 6575) .
Estimated Value $6,500 - 7,000.
