1854-C $2.50 Liberty. NGC graded MS-60. Only 7,295 minted. A great rarity in upper grades, especially so in lovely About Uncirculated as seen here. Charlotte struck so few of these, virtually all of went into circulation; lower grades are the norm than the lofty AU seen here. We note the surfaces are a warm yellow gold color, and we see none of the spotting or heavy marks in the luster. Pop 5; 5 in 61; 6 in 62. (PCGS # 7770) .
