Lot 1596

1795 Flowing Hair Dollar. 3 leaves beneath each wing. PCGS graded EF-45. Nice toning on both sides. A small scratch by Liberty's lips; very well struck in centers and attractively toned with no problems to report and a plethora of constructive features! Identifiable by its 3 leaves as well as the raised die line behind the head. Pop 79. (PCGS # 6852) .

Due to the depth of the Miss Liberty portrait in the die, the resultant coins were in high relief. Because of this, the hair wore quickly at the center of the obverse, with the result that pieces grading VF or lower usually have little detail still remaining. This lovely EF-45 specimen is a splendid exception.
Estimated Value $10,000 - 11,000.

Realized $14,950
