Lot 1225

1914-S $5 Indian. SEGS graded MS-63. A bright and very lustrous speciman. Easily worth our conservative estimate. With extreme pressure on the world's gold markets starting in the summer of 1914 when World War I flared into an historic catastrophe, first Europeans and then later Americans began to hoard the precious metal. By 1916, this denomination would cease production until the economy settled. A choice, generally well struck reminder of those troubled days that our grandparents told us about when we were young.
Estimated Value $4,000 - 5,000.
