Lot 1017

1911-D $2.50 Indian. PCGS graded MS-64. Mint mark slightly weak. Very choice and very frosty. Gold specialists recognize the importance of the 1911-D Quarter Eagle for what it is, the key block to acquiring a 15-piece Indian $2.50 set. The condition rarity of this issue beyond the obvious fact that the higher the Mint State rating the more challenging it becomes is almost unapproachable in Gem condition. The acquisition of a 1911-D not only requires a substantial investment, but a long patience as well.

Offered here is a truly beautiful frosty Mint State 64. The fields are nearly flawless with only the most minute abrasions visible only with the aid of a lens. The strike details are fully brought up as well, including the important mintmark. Pop 249; 13 in 65; 4 in 66. (PCGS # 7943) .
Estimated Value $25,000 - 30,000.
