Great Britain. Proof Halfpenny, 1896. Slightly streaky finish. Victoria Old Head copper coins are rarely ever seen in proof condition. This piece is unlisted in BMC and not mentioned by Peck in his work on English copper and tin coins, although he does acknowledge the existence of the 1896 Proof Farthing. The coin is listed as Freeman 341 (Rarity 19). Excessively rare. NGC graded Proof 64 Red & Brown.
