Lot 2999

Great Britain. Proof copper penny, 1841. S.3948; KM-739. Victoria. Ornamental Trident. No colon after REG. Great finish, flawless fields and frosted design. Apart from the 1839 and 1853 coins from the proof sets, the early Young Head Victoria copper Proof's are excessively rare, and the few specimens which do occasionally appear are often a little scuffed. This is in a superb condition, and could quite easily be the finest known proof of this date. An elegant coin!. NGC graded Proof 65 Brown.
Estimated Value $1,750 - 2,000.
The Cheshire Collection.

Realized $2,070
