Lot 2515

High Grade 1891-CC $20 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-58. Strongly reflective fields with crisp radial luster contrast a frosty and near gem device. Original luster can still be seen rolling across Liberty's cheek. A thin, shallow hairline scratch is seen in the top of the hair. Stars 1-4 display weakness. Reverse detail is of uncirculated quality and there is no wear of any significance on the eagle. The 1891-CC is a scarce date in all grades and the present piece is one of the finer examples that this cataloguer has seen in recent times. A scant mintage of only 5,000 from Carson City this year and obviously a key date from this series. PCGS has graded 16 in AU-58 with only 16 finer, the finest being a single MS-63 example (PCGS # 9017) .
Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000.

Realized $10,350
