1885-CC $20 Liberty. PCGS graded AU-50. A rare Carson City double eagle and a year in which only 9,450 were produced. Moderate hairlines over the fields from a light wipe. Detail is correctly graded for the AU category and the luster on both the obverse and reverse is of a higher grade. Three vertical tick marks rest on the cheek near the hair. Carson City double eagles continue to pick up speed due to collector demand and we are sure this scarce date will receive hefty bidding. PCGS has graded 27 in this grade with 88 finer (PCGS # 9004) .
