Lot 2343

1876-CC $10 Gold Liberty. ICG graded EF-40 Winter 1-A. Light yellow gold surfaces with orange gold highlights. The hair is softly struck above the ear and the tips of the wings. Overall, the fields are above average with regards to abrasions. Some light cleaning occurred long ago but has now softened. Only 4,696 eagles were struck at the Carson City Mint in 1876 and this issue is a serious rarity and should be considered a key date for Carson City eagles. Almost all examples come with abraded surfaces and survivors above EF are very rare.
Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,500.

Realized $4,025
