Brilliant Ultra Cameo 1890 Superb Gem Half Dollar. NGC graded Proof 67 Ultra Cameo. Be prepared to make a visit to your ophthalmologist after viewing this bad boy! Blast white proof surfaces shift from their "black ended" state to fully brilliant mirrors. Liberty and the eagle stand out defiantly against the fields and neither display a single mark. For the sake of identification, several tiny planchet imperfections can be pointed out. The first is a short lint mark right of star 2 near the forearm. Secondly, a shallow planchet flake is noted at the upper left of U of UNITED and right of the last A of AMERICA near the border. Only 25 With Motto Seated half dollars, 1866-1891, have ever been given the Ultra Cameo designation by NGC! The present specimen is spectacular and pristine. While a Proof 68 graded by NGC is technically the finest example known, this beauty is unquestionably one of the finest 1890 proof half dollars in existence. NGC population of 2 with none finer in PF-67 UCAM.
