1879 Shield Nickel. 9 over 8. PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo. A boldly impressed superb gem with champagne highlights. Thickly lustrous and possessing original mint frost on the obverse device. The overdate is clear, most remnants of the preexisting 8 seen in the upper loop of the 9. Identified by a small lint mark that comes off the D of GOD and connects to the middle of the left upright of W. Wonderful eye appeal and very scarce to rare! PCGS population of 21 in PR66 Cam with only 9 in PR-67 Cameo as finest (PCGS # 83834) .
