(Pearl Harbor) Japanese Photos of the Attack. Set of eight aerial photos taken by the Japanese Navy at the moment of attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Each photo is 7½ x 10½ in.; all are intact and in fine condition. The set was sold by the Japanese newspaper companies, Tokyo Nichinichi Shinbun and Osaka Mainichi Shinbun. The original brown bag that the photos were sold in has some wear along the edges, else very good. The bag, "Printed on December 31, 1941, and issued on January 5, 1941," is printed with bellicose titles: "The Annihilation of American Pacific Fleets…The grand Hawaii Naval Battle…You will see the entire aerial photos of Pearl Harbor and the burning and sinking American Naval Fleet….A set of 8 photos for 30 Sen." Photo captions include: "The moment of the annihilation of the Pacific Fleet. Row of battleships during the attack. Hickman Field burns in the distance…."
