Díaz, Porfirio (1830-1915) Mexican dictator for 35 years; overthrown by Francisco Madero in 1911 and died in exile. Partly-printed Document Signed as President, Mexico, January 7, 1897, 2 pp, 15½ x 10¼ inches. A document regarding a copper and gold mine called "San José" in the state of Sonora, giving title to Jesús Santa Cruz, a child, and appointing his father as executor. There is a great deal of detail about the mine. The document has five cancelled revenue stamps at the top; one small tape repair on front and two on verso. Accompanied by two official documents regarding the mine. One is a map, giving the location and size of the mine. The second is a document from the Supreme Tribunal of Justice of the State of Sonora, with dates ranging from 1897 to 1928. All archivally matted to an overall size of 21½ x 36½ inches.
