1859 Pattern Half Dollar. Silver, reeded edge. Judd-235. Pollock-282 Rarity-6. PCGS graded Proof 63. Light film over fully mirrored pewter fields. A small touch of strike weakness at Liberty's hand holding the shield. Over the AM of AMERICA on the reverse is a small brown patch of discoloration on the planchet. Several examples exist in PR63 and PR64 but this issue is very rare in gem condition. PCGS has graded12 in PR63, 11 in PR64 and 4 in PR65 as finest (PCGS # 11960) .
