1934 Maryland and 1935-S San Diego Half Dollars. NGC graded MS-67 and MS-66. A spectacular offering of two fresh commemoratives never before seen by or offered to the public! Let's begin with what could potentially be the finest San Diego commemorative half dollar we have ever seen. A mosaic of straw, blue, teal, auburn, magenta and purple hues over well struck and flawless surfaces. This coin is what toning is all about! A display of color that is fitting for a commemorative issued to a state known for its' awe inspiring sunsets. This San Diego commemorative is housed in an old NGC holder, serial # 167550-017.

Continuing, we offer a stunning example of a Maryland silver commemorative. A vibrant mixture of magenta, yellow, teal, blue and golden toning over superior gem surfaces. Completely lustrous and choice for the grade. Quite possibly one of the finest to exist and a new coin to the marketplace. NGC population of 38 in MS67 with a single MS68 example as finest. Housed in an old NGC holder, serial # 167550-013.

As if the quality and eye appeal of these items were not enough to satisfy potential buyers, we point out that these two coins are accompanied by the original packing used to ship these coins from B. Max Mehl to a Mr. Edward C. Denny on February 17, 1936. The cost of each coin, $1.50, is denoted on the outside front of the mailer. The condition of the packing is "About Uncirculated". Lot of 2 coins.
