Lot 1117

Morgan Dollar. 1894-O. NGC graded MS-64. Blazing white luster and clean fields. Cheek is above average in terms of lack of major marks. A frosty white example. Van Allen & Mallis commented on the 1894-O's tendency to come with rich luster and a weak strike and such is the case with this near gem example where strike weakness is present above the ear. Three short nicks on the breast of the eagle are the only marks on an otherwise gem reverse. One must consider this eye appealing specimen seriously as the only specimens finer than MS64's are 7 MS65 examples, costing a staggering amount more than the present coin.
Estimated Value $4,500 - 5,500.

Realized $6,038
