1865 Liberty Seated Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Soft white, with milky toning covering both sides of this scarce, Civil War date. The strike is excellent -- every star is sharply detailed, as is the eagle's head and leg feathers. The only mark worthy of note is a shallow srcatch beneath TAT of STATES. PCGS reports 10 examples in this grade, with none finer. Because this example is housed in an older-generation, green-label holder, we suspect it is one of the nicest of those ten (PCGS # 6955) .
