Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 25

Lot 552

1805 Draped Bust Dime. 4 berries. JR-2, R.2. PCGS graded MS-66. A phenomenal coin, as beautiful as the day it was made (some would say "more beautiful" because of the russet toning that has formed near the outer rims). Technically, this coin is about as perfect as it could possibly be and we suspect it would have graded higher were it not for the adjustment marks that appear on both sides. Absent these, we could easily see a grade of MS-67, if not higher, which would put this coin right at the top for the date and variety. PCGS reports 2 in this grade and only 3 finer. What a wonderful coin for the advanced collector! (PCGS # 4477) .
Estimated Value $50,000 - 55,000.
