Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 25

Lot 2562

1871-CC $10 Liberty. NGC graded AU-58. A nice even strike with plenty of luster still intact and rich golden-orange in color. This is a dazzling specimen of one of the scarcest of all Carson City issues. The early Carson City issues of the 1870s were distributed regionally rather than internationally thus surviving examples are virtually never seen in such high grade as this. In fact, the Eliasberg specimen was EF-40 and the Bass coin was AU-50, both well within the condition census for this date. Pop of 4 with 1 in MS-60 and 1 in MS-62.
Estimated Value $23,000 - 25,000.

Realized $23,575
