U. S. Coin Glass: Small Kerosene Lamp Base. Central Glass Co., of Wheeling, W. Virginia, c. 1892. Unusually simple and plain, the ovoid lamp base stands on a short foot, with ribbing to the stem and 4 Seated Liberty quarters, dated 1892, around the foot. The coin images are clear rather than frosted -- the quarters being sharply molded. The lamp in very fine condition, with only a few modest chips, mostly at the foot. Height: 5-3/8". Along with this a pleasing little cruet with original stopper -- perhaps also Central Glass Co., but later, and using fantasy "coins" dated to 1887. These coins with eagle with square shield over breast, and the reverse a lit torch with starburst behind. But for chip to one of the coins, the cruet quite pristine. Height: 6". Lot of 2 items.
Estimated Value $500 - 750.

Realized $311
