Original marbled boards, calfskin spine; frontispiece portrait of Washington. Partly-printed certification page, after title page, engrossed in brown ink, admitting Elijah Bottwood to the Benevolent Society of the County of Hampshire, town of Northampton. The volume reprints Washington's September 17, 1796 farewell address. Light toning throughout; leather and marbled binding is tight, with some wear to edges. A fine example.
