Sicily. Himera, c. 410 BC. AR Dilitron (1.98 g). Extremely Rare -- this coin one of four known examples. Ex M & M Auktion 73 (Oct. 17, 1988), lot 4; and, Leu Auktion 65 (21-22 May 1996), lot 75 (brought 3200 Sfr.). Head of Kronos right. Reverse: Thunderbolt, flanked by barley grain and eagle attacking serpent. Cf. Boehringer "Himera im IV. Jahrhundert v. Chr." in Kraay-Morkholm Essays, pl. VIII, 14 (same dies - this example mentioned on pg. 36). Softly toned, with minor striking weakness. Choice Very Fine / Extremely Fine. Estimated Value $800 - 1,200
