Lot 1137

Fr-1914-E. 1988, $1 Federal Reserve Notes. An absolutely incredible set of notes showing a 100% full-board break during printing. Without going into too much detail, on the first note you can see that the face is very lightly printed in some areas were the later note is totally blank. A cardboard like item is used during printing to press the paper into the plate and when it breaks, there is not enough pressure on the paper to force it into the plate and thus the printing becomes weak until nothing is being printed at all. A very scarce error in its own right, but rare when they come sequentially with such a major difference consecutively.

While difficult but not impossible, we have researched these notes by their serial numbers to determine that is was from the 1988-A Series. Lot of 2 notes. About Uncirculated. Estimated Value $500 - 750

Realized $489
