1901 $2.50 Liberty. NGC graded Proof 63 Cameo. Strong cameo contrast and bright, flashy, eye appeal. The grade derives mostly from some light hairlines in the fields; the high points remain relatively undisturbed, or at least do not highlight their imperfections like the fields do. One of only 223 Proofs struck in 1901. Collectors of Proof gold coins have to be either rich or patient -- this coin is for the latter.
