1898 $2.50 Liberty. PCGS graded Proof 66. A breath-taking example of this date, apparently graded in the days before PCGS began assigning cameo designations, as this one is certainly a cameo, if not a Deep Cameo. The color is a delicious, bright, yellow-orange, with just the slightest natural hazing of milky white color over the surfaces. Technically wonderful, and astounding in terms of eye appeal. PCGS reports 10 at this level, with only 5 higher (all PR-67) (PCGS # 7924) .
