Van Rijn, Rembrandt. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity by the publisher. (1606-1669) Dutch painter and etcher. Rembrandt was heavily influenced by Caravaggio and Rubens. Favoring biblical themes and portraits, Rembrandt is known for his treatment of light, often as a warm glow, to depict deep human feeling or the "light of heaven." Sadly, the master died alone and poor, outliving both his son and mistress.


"Christ Before Pilate" 22 1/4 x 30", signed "Rembrandt 1630" in the plate. "After Rembrandt" etching on paper by Armand Dunard (1831-1905). Mint condition.
